In recent years, the environmental pollution caused by plastic packaging, especially foamed PS tableware, has become increasingly serious. At present, the annual total amount of plastic packaging waste in domestic waste in China has exceeded 2 million tons, accounting for nearly 1/3 of the volume of garbage. Due to the enhancement of people's environmental awareness and the improvement of the requirements for the rational use of resources, the production of disposable goods has to take into account its environmental pollution and resource waste. In this regard, new environment-friendly products continue to emerge, especially in the wholesale and use of lunch boxes.
The State Environmental Protection Administration will focus on the control of "white pollution". It is planned to control the growth of "white pollution" in major transportation arteries and big cities by the 13th Five Year Plan period. The production, sales and use of foam tableware will be prohibited in an all-round way. The production and use of ultra-thin plastic bags will be prohibited. A mandatory recycling system for packaging materials in the responsibility of manufacturers will be established to basically eliminate "white pollution".
