Why should we check whether there is a "BPA free" mark when purchasing plastic lunch boxes

Lunch boxes are like socks. Even if you try to pay close attention to them, the lids and containers will eventually change due to your inattention. So far, there are many kinds of fast food boxes entering the new market, and the plastic lunch boxes that are sold in the market and loved by people are often all kinds of colorful ones. When purchasing, it is particularly important to pay attention to whether all lunch boxes are marked "BPA free".

The "BPA free" label means that the product does not contain bisphenol A, a synthetic compound related to a range of health problems, from cardiovascular disease to brain dysplasia and increased risk of some cancers; BPA is one of the most widely used chemicals in the plastic industry, ranging from dental sealants to cash register receipts and tin can liners.

However, more and more evidence shows that products without BPA are safer than the hard plastics they replace, and some studies show that some chemical alternatives may be more effective than BPA.

In 2008, the Ministry of Health of Canada made global headlines by banning the sale of polycarbonate baby bottles containing bisphenol A. In 2010, Canada further declared BPA as a toxin (the name allows the government to formulate regulations on the use of chemicals).
