The disposable lunch box made of ordinary materials cannot be heated in the microwave oven, because the melting point of this kind of lunch box is low, and it will melt when heated. The heated food may melt together with the lunch box, and the taste is not good! The second stage foamed plastic will be melted and react chemically when encountering heated grease.
Microwave oven lunch boxes are usually made of PP and PS plastics. PP refers to polypropylene, which has excellent mechanical and thermal properties and is used in various laminated materials and packaging materials. PS is commonly known as hard glue, ordinary hard glue, which is hard and brittle. When it is knocked, it makes a metallic "ding dong" sound, which is crisp, commonly known as "ring glue", non-toxic and tasteless. This material can be used for packaging, and it is non-toxic and tasteless. It is also very safe to use. The lunch box made of PP is relatively soft, while the lunch box made of PS is slightly hard. There is no difference in other aspects.
The two materials are also safe when heated in microwave ovens, and will not release toxic substances. It should be noted that the general lunch boxes are marked with whether they are suitable for microwave ovens. Some lunch boxes are not made of PP, so they cannot be heated in microwave ovens. It is better not to bring a lid when heating meals. Plastic lunch boxes without materials, "applicable to microwave oven" and similar words cannot be put into the microwave oven for heating. This kind of lunch box may be inferior, so it is better not to put it into the microwave oven for use.
